I'm planning to order a bake element, but need to make sure I'm equipped for this task. I turned off the breaker. As I understand it, I unscrew the two screws that hold the element in place at the back of the oven, then pull it out about three inches and disconnect the spade lug connectors. Is there a special tool that I need to disconnect the spade lug connectors? I tried to gently pull them from the wiring by hand, but nothing happened. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

No, they just push on to the element terminals. Some elements do use screw terminals so make sure there are no screw heads visible.

They have to be on fairly tight or else risk falling off and creating a short. The wire terminal could be gripped with a pair of pliers to get a better grip if necessary.
