I think it is the ignitor burner bake, is there a way to confirm this? Where can I find a good reference source on steps on replacing the part.

ge gives no refrences. take the racks out, and the bottom of the floor of the oven out, and the flame spreader, and then you will see the ignitor. take the 2 screws out that hold the ignitor in place. on some models ge put the screws in a place where you can't get to them with taking the whole burner off to do it. in that case there is one screw in the front holding the front of the burner in place, and a few holding it in place close to the gas valve, which means you have to take the broiler draw out to get to it. you also might have to cut the wires of the old ignitor, and wire nut the new one in. the new ignitor will come with the ceramic wire nuts. you can do it. unplug the oven first. let me know how it goes. tom
