You have to remove the microwave from the cabinet and remove the outer case from the microwave. If the noise is coming from the top of the microwave then there is nothing else but the stirrer motor what can cause it. I don't think it's a good idea to take it apart just to disconnect the old motor and do the same job twice. In case if the new motor would not fix the problem you can return it. - The stirrer motor kit Part number: AP3135927

Hi Gene, I took your suggestion and we didn't take it out while my son-in-law was here. He is coming back for a visit next week so I just ordered the part. I really appreciate your help on this. After we get if off the wall and onto the counter top with the cover off is there any warning or caution about what else that has to be removed to get to the motor? Bill

Hello Gene,
I received the parts package and it includes several parts that I am not sure what they are for. One is a white tube with a seperate nozzle. There is no printing or identifying information on the tube. Also a small piece of sandpaper. What are these used for?
Just want to make sure we do it correctly.
Thanks again,
Bill

Bill,
This tube with a nozzle is a glue if you will need to glue on a cover. A sandpaper is to clean some surfaces prior to gluing.

Thanks Gene,
Will get to it when my son-in-law arrives the end of this week.

Hi Gene,
I can't thank you enough. It took us a while and we had to assume because there was only room for one cover that this kit must support more that one model. Other than that it all went together quite well. A little truoble getting the old silicone off but actually had NO screws left over. A good sign. Works perfectly now and the nise is comletely gone.
Thanks again. I am a true believer in AppliancePartsPro and know just where to go for any appliance repair need.
Bill
