This icemaker failed while under warranty and was repaired. Worked for another year or two, then stopped again.

No water flows to the mold.

The refrigerator has Ice and Water in the door, and the water dispenses fine. The on/off switch in the freezer is set to on, and the red led flashes.

Any suggestions?

Check your service data sheet, usually tucked in behind the kick panel under the door. It will probably tell you the blinking light is due to a blocked signal from the led light in the door. If no blockage, you probably have a bad board. AP3137510
If you have a voltmeter, you can check for 115 volts between pins L and N behind the pull off cover of the icemaker. Make sure you close the plastic door that blocks the beam when you open the door when you test. A lack of voltage confirms a bad board.

Thanks for the response.

Before I go opening up the refrigerator, does my logic here sound correct.

The red led flashes when the freezer door opens, because the cover on the emiter opens. When I close the cover (unblocking the line of sight between the emiter and reciever) the led stays solid red. Can I conclude that this part of the system is working properly?

My thoughts were a) failure of "sensor" to open the solenoid, b) failure of the solenoid, or c) blockage (frozen) of the water fill tube.

On the last one, the black rubber tube from the interior surface of the freezer is flexible. At one point, there was ice there and the icemaker wasn't functioning. The ice was removed and the icemaker worked again for awhile.

I would go to the back of the fridge and temporarily swap the plugs on the dual water solenoid. Then dispense water with the fountain switch. If the icemaker fills up, your water supply is ok.
If your freezer temperature is below 15 degrees, you then probably just have a bad icemamaker.
