I have a GE refrigerator, model GDS20SCSBSS, with a noise problem. I believe the noise comes from the frost free freezer. It has the freezer compartment on the bottom. No icemaker or water dispenser. The frost free feature comes on about every hour or so. When it was new it was very quiet at melting accumulated ice. It's a little over a year old now. A week or two ago it started making a loud buzzing noise like an electric alarm clock whenever it melts the ice build up.

Everything else about the refrigerator works fine. How can I return it to its normal quiet operation?

:) Hire a Tech to look at it!!!!! I can assure you that it does NOT defrost every hour!!!! It sounds like the fan motor is noisy, I think a pro should look at it, It could save you a BIG headache later.
