Been having some defrost issues with this refrig.I have replaced the mother board and confirmed that the heater, fan and therm. are working, however over time it continues to freeze up. I notice 2 sensors in the freezer compartment 1 near the top of the coil and 1 at the very bottom, what are the main function of these sensors and could this be the problem not defrosting?

Replaced the thermister at the top of the coil and so far so good.Seems these refrig. are designed to fail so GE can sell lots of replacement parts. I will never buy GE Appliaces again.(JUNK)
