im sure you mean that when you try to ignite one top burner , that the other burners are sparking. This is ok... Maytag ranges have spark modules that "broadcast" the spark to all burners. As long as it does not continue to spark when you adjust the burner or there is not problem with ignition, all is well...

Hi Jim.....My girlfriend said that when she turns on 1 burner the others put out gas without igniting....She originally was trying to bake a cake when she smelled a strong gas odor....A friend said that the surface burners were also coming on ?........I will go and clarify the issue....

Thanks ,

Tony

yes please... make sure oven is off... turn RF burner on make sure it is the only one that gas is coming out of .. .then try others in rotation (CCW)...then try the oven to see if you smell gas when the oven comes on ?

Hi Jim....Ok , when the oven was turned on ALL surface burners came on and put out gas without being turned on and without lighting....This happened a while back and she has since stopped using the oven and turned off the gas to the oven....Thanks ,

Tony
