dryer stopped in the middle of cycle. I have power to the back of dryer. What else can I check??

Here is a wiring diagram https://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%208576796.pdfDid the unit restart? If it does restart does it start right after the shut down? If you have to wait a while before it will restart the most likely cause is the motor overheating. If it restarts right away then it could be just the door is not latching correctly. The door switch is opening when the clothes hit the door and this is shutting the unit down. If it will not restart then you may have a power problem, a thermal fuse has blown or a number of other possible causes. Best to check the power using a meter. |

dryer is running for about 8 min. before it cuts off.it also get very,very hot during these few minutes while it's running.think that could be a thermostat problem?

Doubt it is a thermostat as they only affect the heater. If it gets too hot it will blow a thermal fuse and then it would not restart.
Try turning the drum by hand, it should turn fairly easily, if not could be the motor is laboring and overheating. This could cause a high heat problem as the blower is driver by the motor so you may have poor air flow. |
