My washer will not stop filling with water. I did research and it said that itcould bethe water inlet valve, so i ordered one. The other problem that im not sure if its associated with it is I am getting junk like debre in my water. It looks like leaves but when you go to pick it off its like grease. Is this the same problem or its it 2 different problems?

Hi Kim

Since you have already ordered the inlet valve, put it in and see if that fixes the problem. But first check the water level switch tube that goes from the switch down the side of the tub to see that it is clear of debris and attached correctly.

If the new inlet valves do not fix the problem you probably have a bad water level switch.

With respect to your grease problem, unless this is somehow coming in with the water, or is left over from some greasy clothes it is coming from the transmission, which is not good. You may have to replace the transmission in the near future.

Good luck with your repair and let us know how things turn out.
