Hello all:
new to this forum, but I can't wait to learn more about fixing appliances. I prefer fixing rather than replacing if mechanicals are in good shape. At one tenant's apt, she was having issues with a kenmore stove. The oven initially wouldn't light. I cleaned the capillary tube for the safety valve and now it lights, but the darn ignitor keeps sparking (it is spark ignition on a pilot)! The oven AND the stove tops ignitors go off at the same time, even after the main burner on the oven lights. The stove ignitor works flawlessly, but I don't understand what is happening here. The tenant also mentioned the oven doesn't keep a set temperature, but I want to do one thing at a time. I cleaned the capillary tube for the thermostat so that may fix it. I checked for wiring snafus but couldn't find any crossed wiring or otherwise. Does anyone have ideas?

yes, they all stop clicking when I shut the oven thermostat off. whenever it is off "OFF," the main oven burner and the stove burner ignitors are running
