Washer won't spin unless i help it start....loud squeaking and rubber smell. Not sure what part I need to replace. Any suggestions? Thanks :eek:

A difficult problem to diagnose from afar, a lot of possibilities.

Take off the front and operate the machine and watch the belt/motor/pulley to see if you can tell if the problem is in that area.

If you are lucky the problem is a worn belt, or loose idler tensioner. You should be able to tell by watching it and if you need to, get someone to start the spin cycle while you are doing so.

If you cannot determine the problem is in this area it is likely your transmission is hanging up in some manner.
