Hi, I need to replace a heating sensor in my dryer but I'm not sure which part I need. The dryer keeps going even when the clothes are dry. Thank you!

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LER3624JQ2 | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram https://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%208528187.pdfYou do not have a sensor. The way the unit works in Auto mode is that when the heating element turns off the timer advances. As the clothes dry the heater is shut off by the thermostat more often so the timer advances quiker toward shut off. Does the timer knob advance at all? If no, try timed dry, does it now advance? Timed dry uses a different circuit path, it is directly across the 240 volts. If it does not advance then odds are the timer is shot and needs replacing. If it does advance in timed dry then odds are high that you have a grounded element. The element has sagged or broken and is touching the case so it never really turns off. Unplug the unit Remove the two wires from the heating element. Check the element for resistance, should be approximately 10 ohms. Then check each element connection to ground/frame, should be an open (infinite ohms), if not you have a grounded element. Sometimes you can actually see the element coil touching the case. |
