One of the volunteers here had asked me about cleaning the coils - I have done that and vacuumed up everything. Fridge is barely cold and freezer does not work at all.

The compresser fan works , the compressor turns on for 5 seconds then there is a click and it cuts off, it does this constantly. Is there a overload protect built in the compressor or external. I have a bad feeling about this, fridge is only 2 years old.

replace the overload and relay kit that is mounted on the compressor, and that will do it. very common problem. cheap fix, and real easy repair. tom
