I purchased this dishwasher in July 2007. For the year that it was under warranty, it worked OK, then it became noisier than usual but worked OK, and for the last month or so it is again quiet as it was when it was new but it does not wash dishes well. Especially whatever is on the upper rack.

I took the shelves out and examined closely, all the water passages are wide open, there does not seem to be any damage to any of the spray arms, nothing seems broken, but it is not washing well. I filled the rinse agent reservoir, and it used all of it up in just a couple of cycles, one fill used to last for a good while.

I have never before repaired a dishwasher, but I think I can do it, and before anything else how do I figure out what is wrong. Logically, I feel probably it is not generating the water pressure that is needed, but how do I figure out as to what has broken down ?

Please advise.

Thanks

Matt

I am having the same problem. Have you figured out a solution for yours yet?

Thanks.

You almost for certain have something down in the impeller. I think there is a sticky here on how to clean it out.

I thought there was a sticky but i dont see it. You need to remove the lower spray arm and the cover below it, and yet another smaller cover below that. You will need some torx tips to get the screws out and be very careful not to drop those screws down in there. You need to get down to the impeller that chops up the food. You most certainly have something in there or blocking it. Take some pictures as you go if needed so you can get it back together. If someone here knows the link to the pictorial showing how to do it that would be great.
