Our Tappan oven has problems with the broiler element.
Model/Serial # of our oven: 11-1653-30/01035-15060339
A week ago our broiler went out, so we bought another broiler element and re-seated it. worked for about a day or two then ran into a problem.
Problem is when we put the oven on "bake, t. bake or preheat", the broiler element goes on. Re-seated element and connections several times to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Finding info on a Tappan is a pain in theyou know what.
They seem very secretive.
You may not have a problem and have just noticed this since you are checking you repair.
It is not uncommon for the units to turn on the broil element during pre-heat as it gives a shorter preheat time.
Also many unit also use the broiler during bake as this gives a more consistent temperature profile in the oven than if they just used the bake element. |
