Looking through the bottom rear access panel with water in the tub I can see water dripping between outer tub assembly and metal disc on the bottom of the tub all the way around the bottom. It drips totally clear of the transmission, and runs out the bottom of the washer. Unit runs fine. The drip is the only discernible problem. Someone was running the washer with an off-balance load on a regular basis without my knowledge for some time.

Would replacing the tub seal (#7) correct this problem? It starts dripping with about an inch and a half of water in the tub, whether it's running or not. Or is there another seal under the agitator base between the agitator and tub?

Many thanks

can washer still be used while leaky? Will that damage the transmission?
