Washer spins fine but when the spin cycle shuts off,the tub makes a very loud banging noise as it is slowing down.seems as if theres no braking to slow tub down.it starts up the spin fine and spins fine ,just makes the noise when the spin shuts off and tub is trying to slow down.Kenmore model 110.28522701.

This is usually a clutch/brake type problem. See the Sticky by Richappy at the top of the washer repair section page and check the video library. Also when you open it up check the support structure for cracks or breaks and the springs.

3 year extended warranty just ran out 2 months ago.Whatever happened to quality.Bought a Kenmore washer in 1986 and ran till 2004.been through 2 more now since 2004.
