The lights on both the refrigerator and freezer are working, but neither side stays cold. If I try to increase the temperature setting I hear it kick on, but then it stops working. Any suggestions?

THAT INDICATES THAT THE EVAP COIL IS ICED UP. IF SO THE DEFROST HEATER IS BROKEN. ON MY SIDE BY SIDE REFRIG IT WAS NOT DIFFICULT TO REPLACE.
