We were hit by lightning and now are getting a "bad line" error message on the readout and the oven controls do not work on our Hotpoint gas range.
I am thinking of replacing the control module. but not sure what to do..

I've never encountered that error message before myself. Other than a problem in the control itself (see the following link) it might be referring to the power supply to the appliance. Someone might want to ensure the power supply is still properly polarized and grounded and the main wires and connectors inside the appliance are intact before replacing the control.

At least the control is reasonably priced on your model. Some are $200+ :eek:
