Can anyone tell me how to replace the belt on a Maytag dryer? Does one have to take the whole dryer apart? Are there printed directions?

Remove the front panel and the sub panel that supports the drum. Feed the new belt around the drum just in front of the groove with the flat side against the drum. Remove the small back panel and route the belt around the idler pulley and motor.
There is now only one way to route the belt to get proper tension with the grouved side against the motor pulley.
