Whirlpool ice dispenser makes the ice..motor runs when you try to get the ice to come out but nothing happens..water dispense is fine. The shute stays open cause something broke off awhile back...any suggestions? I called whirlpool and they wanted to send someone out for 100 bucks just to look at it...

if your ice door stays open, then the ice in the bucket may have froze sold if you keep trying to dispen ice your will damage the dispenser motor. give me more info and what you see.
1 does the ice door close

The ice door does not shut. The ice maker is fine. It's not frozen together it just simply does not dispense. I've taken the ice maker out and let it sit out and it's still not dispensing. I'm not sure what I need to repair the door. You can see right through the ice door though.
