I have an Amana Soft Sound Commercial quality 3.3CuFt capacity washer, I believe it is a ALW780QA. I noticed a small leak coming from underneath the main bearing. I kept putting it off and it turned into a big leak. Now the washer wont agitate or spin. It fills and drains OK. I performed a test on the motor....it has been detached from the washer and will spin when washer is on a spin cycle; it also will spin on a regular wash cycle. (FYI This is a belt driven washer.)

Hi Papabear

I am afraid the most likely scenario is that water has gotten into your transmission and other stuff that causes the machine to agitate and spin, and this is not good.

Here is the service manual, but I think a new washer or good used washer may be in your future.

Sorry not to be more encouraging. Good luck!
