Subject refrigerator suddenly stopped working, and digital read-outs of freezer and refrig temps that are on panel on freezer door above water and ice dispenser are not displaying. The water dispenser works, and the lights are on inside, but the compressor and fan are not operable.
On the refrig temp display a single flashing light is evident.
I assume that a main control board has gone out, but can't be sure. Can someone help?

Thanks for the information--service manuals and tech notes. I read on page 30 of the manual that the flashing LED indicated a possible ice maker sensor problem. About 6 weeks ago, the ice maker stopped working, and I unhooked it and removed it, and haven't replaced it yet. I guess it's possible the error message is connected somehow to that removal, but no problems or error messages were received until, as I said, 6 weeks or so after removal.
Anyway, I help "Power Freeze" and "Power Cool" buttons down simultaneously for 8 or so seconds, and first thing that happened was all LED's began working and freezer and refrig temp indicators came back on, then after about 2 seconds, the compressor kicked on and began cooling.
The manual is very helpful. I don't like the fact that the refrig completely shut down over an error code of this type. Glad that we were not on a week-long vacation, as everything inside would have been ruined. As it was, we were able to transfer things to a 2nd refrig during the downtime!

Glad to hear it worked out. Unfortunately this is not a very well thought out unit and they tried to get way too fancy/complicated in it's design. |
