I have a GE Eterna Side by Side model number ESH25XGRBWW that is 5 years old. The problem is that the condenser and fans on the freezer side seem to run all the time. The temeratures inside in the fridge and freezer are not too warm. I have both settings at 3 (1= warmest and 9 = coldest) and the freezer side temperature is -2. The refrigerator side is also at the desired temperature.

If I manually change the appliance setting from 3 to 2, the appliance will turn off. When running, I suspect that the appliance is not detecting that the temperature is cold enough, and therefore not turning off. It just keeps running. Is that possible? Can some kind of sensor be malfunctioning?

Recently I noticed that the appliance was hot to the touch, so I opened the back compartment and cleaned the condenser fan and motor. I suspect the motor intake was clogged and not running properly. That cleaning solved the problem with the appliance being hot to the touch.

As a side effect, the water line inside the freezer door is frozen. I suspect that is caused by the freezer fans blowing constantly. I hope that fixing the problem with the appliance running constantly will resolve the frozen water line problem.

Any suggestions?
