Clothes dryer inside air is very hot. Low settings do not work. It seems like the high heat gets excessively hot, if that is possible. Clothes are almost too hot too hold.
Any clues?
Thanks in advance,
Larry from Texas

Hi Larry
The first thing you want to do is to stop using this dryer, immediately and until your problem is fixed. This has the potential for starting a fire.
The second thing you want to do is to unplug the dryer and open it up, including the blower cover and clean out the entire airflow system. You are looking for lint or some other obstruction in your airflow/venting system. Briefly start the dryer and make sure your blower is turning correctly.
I think as a precautionary move you should also replace your thermostats. They are inexpensive, and it is possible your problem is a thermostat that is sticking in the closed position, which means you cannot ohm it out unless you take them out, heat them in the oven and then test for continuity (you want them to be open when they are hot).
After you have done this you can test the dryer, being very careful to shut it down if it heats up too much, and of course having a fire extinguisher handy.
Gas dryers are not something I work on, so I am also inviting others who respond to chime in with their thoughts.
Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.
