DW leaves dirty water in tub at completion of the cycle. Changed control bd, no difference. Changed drain pump, no difference. Changed optical water indicator, no difference. Control panel lights seem to cycle properly (Nothing flashes as I think it would do if it detected some kind of problem. Of course the obvious are NOT the problem -- disposal plug is knocked out, drain hose is NOT clogged (will drain using Cancel Drain).
Any ideas?

My two-year old machine worked for a year or so although I have never been real happy with it. (To be a more efficient one, it seemed to take much longer with a lot of running, temporary pauses, etc. than the dial-controlled one I removed.) I have studied the service technician's troubleshooting/information sheet I found behind the bottom access cover. The runs and pauses seem ok although I have not taken a stop watch to a complete cycle.
Anyway, I know about the high drain loop which I am using due to my not having the air gap. It seems like my problem has something to do with the factory programming of the control board. The machine will drain when I use the Cancel Drain option, which tells me that the drain pump is working and the drain path is not clogged. The draining results were the same with the original control board and the replacement one.

I believe cancel drain is just longer than the normal drain cycles. All I can suggest is that you double check the drain flow path. Also check the filters, check valve etc. in the main pump as they may be impeding the drain flow. If all OK then I would replace the drain pump. Here is a manual. I am not sure it is an exact match to your unit as I do not have a cross reference for Sears model numbers but I think the pump is a close match to yours.
