THE SWITCH WENT OUT ON THE DUAL ELEMENT OF MY COOK TOP. AT FIRST IT ONLY WORKED IN THE BIG ELEMENT MODE, THE SMALL ELEMENT COULD NOT BE ACTIVATED. THEN THE ELEMENT WOULD NOT TURN OFF. I DISCONNECTED THE SWITCH. THE RED WIRE WHICH HAS A T TYPE WIRE CONNECTOR BROKE UPON REMOVAL SO I NEED TO RECONNECT THE T TYPE CONNECTOR AND THE RED WIRE SO THAT THE LAST ELEMENT SWITCH THAT IS NEXT TO THE DUAL ONE CAN HAVE POWER. NOW MY PROBLEM IS

1. I CANT FIND A T TYPE WIRE CONNECTOR. I FIGURED I WOULD JUST CRIMP THE TWO ENDS INTO ONE SINGLE FEMALE CONNECTOR AND THE OTHER END TO THE LAST SWITCH, BUT... PROBLEM # 2

2. THE WIRE CONNECTOR IS BRASS NOT SILVER LIKE I CAN FIND AT THE HARDWARE STORES AND IN MY GARAGE. SO IS THE BRASS USED BECAUSE OF HIGH TEMP/VOLTAGE? CAN I USE A REGULAR FEMALE WIRE CONNECTOR WITH THE TWO ENDS CRIMPED INTO THE ONE END OF THE CONNECTOR.

THIS SHOULDN'T BE SO HARD BUT I DON'T WANT TO CATCH MY HOUSE ON FIRE WITH A OVERHEATED WIRE IN THE RANGE. HELP!    :(

In my opinion the material does not make a big difference as long as there is a good tight connection.
