The dryer produces a loud humm when hitting the start button and the drum doesn't spin. But the dryer drum will spin and dry fine if I assist starting the drum by hand. I'm looking for a external start capacitor but this dryer does not appear to have one. Is this a non replaceable internal item on some dryer motor? Do some motors use a design that doesn't require a start capacitor... I suspect I will need a new motor.. Any thoughts. please pass them on. Thanks

Most likely the problem is a bad motor. Dryer motors do not use capacitors.

- The part number for the motor is AP4042922
