I replaced the starter on monday and everything was fine. I get up this morning and notice water running down the door [from ice maker]. Any ideas on what is wrong. Is it possible the defrost cycle is not working?

If you replaced the compressor start relay and now a water leak, they are NOT related, just turn off the water and replace the water solenoid in the back of fridge.

The water leak was from the ice melting> The freezer stopped cooling. All the fans aree working and the fridge temp. is now at 40

Did you use the factory replacement start relay; if you used a 3n1 hard start device, you destroyed your compressor start winding, and blew out your adaptive defrost pc board. Also, make sure you wire in the run capacitor if it has one.
You can confirm this by measuring the voltage to the compressor and current draw.
