My stove melted down the clock/timer/control unit while on the cleaning mode stage.Would anyone know why it would do this? There where no obstructions to the vents(front or rear) Im scared that the next time I wont be so lucky and it will cause a fire in my home. What could cause this to happen?
Purchased my stove 2 1/2 years ago but has been only in use for approx 6 months,so its a fairly new unit.

P.S.-I have used the self cleaning mode before and it worked as it should.

Thanks for any help anyone gan give.

Gary,

I would definitely talk to Frigidaire authorities regarding this issue even if your range is out of warranty. It's becoming too dangerous.

Gene.
