I have the original Maytag Neptune electric dryer. When the dryer is running it begins to sqeek. qietly at 1st then gradually louder until we shut if off because of the volume. In addition, when we had a load of towels in, the unit shut itself down and would not run until it cooled off awhile. Should I repair it or replace it?

Thanks

You have to find out what is wrong and how much it will cost you to fix it before you'll decide what to do. Are you handy enough to do it yourself or you are going to pay somebody? The difference could be much over a $100.

It can be just a maintenance issue like cleaning and lubrication. It can be a few inexpensive parts like a glides or drum support rollers. It can be a bad motor as well. The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it.
