My daughter has asked me to work on her refrig. She complains that 2/3 times per week, there is a puddle of water under it, but I cannot find the source.
The ice maker does not work but it is dry, and all hoses to it are dry. Does this refrig have an auto-defrost which would drain evaporator condensate? Does the internal drain run to some tray underneath the unit to evaporate? May be I don't have a needed tray.

Part II ...
It looks as if I have a drain pan, and i can see the hose draining into it from the freezer side. I do not see a drain from the refrig side.
Iinside the refrig, behind and below the uppere crisper tray there is a white plastic bung (looks like an oversized hearing protector) that I have removed. It is moldy at the bottom, and I'll wash it and put it back. What is its purpose?

Your drain tube is stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.
