I have a technical question for you all. I have a Maytag gas dryer (MDG7400AWW) that just today stopped heating. The blower, drum rotation and everything else seems fine, it just won't heat. It has a sound that it makes - kinda like a rattle/spinning sound that lasts about 12-14 seconds, then "clicks" off. This happens every minute or so. Can you get me started in the proper direction for what might be wrong? Actually, if I let is sit for a while, then it will heat, but then after about 3-5 minutes, there is that sound again and then the heat kicks off and won't come back on.
Maytags - they just don't make 'em the way they used to! That repair man has plenty to do these days!:(

Well, after reading through several repair blogs, I decided to go with changing out the two gas coil valves. Worked like a charm! Thanks to all of you who put this info out there - it saved me tons of dough! :D
