okay. so definetly need a new motor. should i order one and replace it myself or just buy a new washer?
just to be clear. my washer works fine except when it comes time to agitate. then it does the humming and stops where it is at. if i move the timer to spin then it drains and spins thank you for your time and knowlege.:)

Without testing the motor, I'm not sure!!!! If it drains and spins correctly, It could also be the timer.:(
