I put a new defrost timer switch in and it went bad in no time at all. Or at least it's doing the exact same thing that it was doing before, which is not cooling down enough on the refriderator side and the coils are frosting over. Please give me a clue. Thanks,
Travis

Here are your parts includes a wiringf diagram. Replacement parts for MAYTAG MSD2556AEW REF - SXS/I&W | AppliancePartsPros.comIt is an electronic part so any noise spikes/surges on the line can take it out. richappy another regular poster on this forum recommends: "Wall Mart has the 1200 joule surge protector for $9.00, must say for appliances on the box." Could be it was a defective board. Check the warranty on it from whoever you bought it from. Check the defrost thermostat. It should be 0 ohms when frozen but when thawed (open) it should be around 240,000 ohms. If it is deformed/bulged replace it even if it measures OK. |
