I want to replace the pump assembly for my DU927QWDQ1 dishwasher.
I see I need part AP5305918 and the gasket AP2908993.
In the "product question" section after the order page it says "the manufacturer also recommends replacing the relay". But how do I know what relay that is? Is there a typical relay that would need to be changed when replacing the pump assembly?

Thank you - Mike

Here is the parts breakdown
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL DU927QWDQ1 UNDERCOUNTER DISHWASHER | AppliancePartsPros.com

I could not find a relay. Also when I did a Search By Keyword a relay did not come up.

So I went looking for a wiring diagram. I could not find a DQ1 but did find a DQ0 which should be a close match (see the attachment) again I do not see a relay so I am stumped perhaps that Question is for a different model.
I would check with the parts people.

Thank you, very helpful! Do you know if I will have to remove the dishwasher from under the counter to replace the pump assembly or does it go in from the top?

The following should help
http://appliancedigest.c...ishwasher-service-manual
and
http://appliancedigest.c...er-module-service-manual
You have to join the site to download the manual but it is free and this is a very good site for manuals and other info for the appliance repair DIYer.

May be easier and quicker to pull the unit depends how good you are at lying on the floor and reaching in disconnecting/reconnecting things.

Be sure that the power is off!!!
