Hi,

My Kenmore was having trouble spinning. I would manual advance the timer one click and would start.

Then it just stopped spinning, not during wash, not during final spin.

The door latch would stay closed at the end.

So I thought must be the timer.

Put in a new timer, it turned during wash so I drained it filled it and

No spin.

Door latch still would not open, now there was stuff in there:mad:

Did I mention there is a dryer on top of this unit:mad:

So I replaced the door latch because I have no sense.

No Spin

So now I am here doing more then just lurking. Can anyone offer some advice?

Tonight I am taking off the back panel to look at the switch.

EDIT:
I noticed I entered the S/N for Model number. Actual Model Number is
970-C40042-00

So I took a meter to the speed control and motor and I still don't understand.

According to the Tech Sheet I should see 3 Meg Omhs +/- 10% on the speed control 6 wire plug between 1-2, 2-3, 1-3. I was getting 16M.

So speed control right? They were all within the same and the part looks expensive. Is there something else I can look at? The fuse is still good.

The motor is suppose to show 2.6 ohms +/- 7% and it is giving 3, which seems a little high but better the the speed control

Would speed control explain why my door doesn't open?

Well, I'm going to order the Speed Control for lack of other ideas from anyone.

I'll post what happens.
