MY ice maker hasn't made ice in 6 months. I finally took it apart today to find the inlet tube coming thru the back of the freezer. I was thinking that the heater loop that goes around the inlet tube is open, but I don't know how to check it. A new one is $95 and I would like to know if this is the right thing before I spend that much. Also, does anyone know if a new heater loop comes with terminals on it. The wire inside the loop is as thin as human hair.

That wont be your problem!!!! Take the fill tube out and wash it out. reinstall it and see if it happens again, if it freezes up again, replace the WATER VALVE at the Rt. Rear of the unit.(where the water supply connects to the frig.):)
