I'm looking for instructions for replacing Part Number: AP299406 This is a thermostat for a freezer. It has been proven to be at fault but the issue I'm having is understanding where the capillary tube is routed and how do I remove it properly and of course install the new one. Thanks in advance for your help with this issue.

Thanks for the reply Gene. The thermostat has been replaced but the problem remains. I will give a quick run down of how we got to this point. The issue started with the freezer not freezing and the compressor making a loud buzzing noise and clicking but never kicking on. The compressor was found defective and was replaced. Now the freezer is freezing but the compressor is not turning off. The thermostat was suspected as being the fault and also assumed to be the reason why the first compressor burned not allowing it to cycle off/on. The thermostat has been replaced and the freezer allow to come up to temperature but still it is not cycling off/on no matter what temp setting. You can continuously hear the freezer running. Can you please suggest what other checks can be made or what is going on with this unit. Thanks in advance for any help with this matter.

Since my last post I have put a thermometer in the freezer. It does not matter what the control is set to I get a constant +14 degrees. Since both the thermostat and the compressor have been changed is it possible that one of these is still the issue? Since the thermostat was changed there has been no change in the fault seen. Is is possible for too much refrigerant to cause a problem? I'm asking because with the fan working, the thermostat changed as well as the compressor what else is there? A refrigerant leak? Too much refrigerant? Bad thermostat- I doubt the thermostat as it has been changed and there has been no change in the fault. Thanks for any help with what to look for.

Sounds like the system is low on Freon. Who replaced the compressor?
Gene.

I had it replaced by a repairman. They came out this AM and said the system had too much refrigerant and was froze. They made corrections and when I left the temp was dropping. We will see if this was the fix when I get in this evening.
