Cloudy, cool, water remains at the bottom of the washer when it is finished. Doesn't matter which wash cycle is selected.
Also, water never gets hot/steamy - probably house hot water temp at best.
The dishes are 'clean' at the end in that there are no food scraps left on them, nor in the water at the bottom. I doubt if the dishes are 'really' clean, however, although I have no way to determine that.
Would appreciate any suggestions.
Thx Dave

Hi Dave, The first thing I would do is check the air gap on top of the sink (if there is one) for a clog. Then disconnect the drain hose from the air gap or from the garbage disposer if there is no air gap installed, put it in a bucket, run the drain cycle and watch for a foreign objects coming out with the water. If there is nothing wrong then you have to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet and check the drain pump. The incoming water temperature must be at least 120°F according to the manufacturer instructions. Maybe you have to install a recirculating pump for the water heater to improve the time needed for the hot water to get to the kitchen. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for GE GSD6900J00WW | AppliancePartsPros.comGene.

Thank you Gene, took me a while to get back to this one. Sorry about that. Great idea! - removed the drain hose. It pumps at the right time, but a very small stream. may just be plugged up. Be a couple of weeks before I can get back in there, but I'll get it.
In the meantime, looks like the clothes washer pooped out. :(
Thx again Dave
