Model Number: TAX4DNCWH Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years I need to replace the refrigerent in my mini refrigerator. I have the back removed & have followed the thick line from the condenser to where it ends. There is a tar like substance sealing the end of the line & before I go any further I would like to know if this is where I add the refrigerant and also will the necessary valve or attachment come already attached or is that something I must buy seperately. I have (R134a) refrigerant & the can came with a hose and fitting on it. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me.Thanks

As far as I know you need a qualified service tech to add freon. But that may depend on where you are. Also they will have the proper gauges etc. The proper amount has to be added too much is as bad as too little.
Also there is no use adding freon unless you find the leak and repair it.
On a small fridge it usually makes more sense to replace it. |
