I've got an older Kenmore (Whirlpool) electric clothes dryer that I'm replacing the motor in.
I'm having trouble getting the clamps back on the motor and base. The type with the holes on each side of the clamp that sets in an ear.

Anyone have a trick to getting those crazy clamps back on ?

Thanks :)

Well ,I guess I was holding my mouth wrong as my Dad use to say !

I simply clamped a pair of vise grips on one end of the clamp, and hung the other end of the clamp (inserting the hole in the ear)and then pulled down enough to get the clamp started, then knocked it on down with a straight screw driver.

I don't know why I was having such trouble getting that crazy thing on,but I was.

I must have held my mouth right....LOL.

To remove the clamps off of the motor you will need a good pair of channel lock pliers. Simply grab the hooked end of the clamp with the handles sticking up and push down and pry against the part of the holder that is holding the clamp locked in and it will come right off.
