The heating unit, I guess the magnetron has quit, everything else works well but no heat. There are no special circumstances, just didn't work one day.
Is there a way to confirm that I need a magnetron and a way to find the access to remove? Also I scanned posts before posting and looked for the parts blow up. The model number comes up as a table top unit but this is an over the range model. It is not within the GE period for underperforming magnetrons as it was made in 2001.
Thank you.

There is no safe way to check this but if it is running but not heating the magnetron is probably bad. Check your owner’s manual the magnetron tube may still be under warranty some up until a few years ago had a 10-year parts warranty. To access the magnetron tube you must take it down from the cabinet. Then remove the outside case by removing the screw around the perimeter. Once removed you should see the magnetron tube. Hope this helps!! Microwave Repair Guide
