Door won't stay shut and it appears to be a worn out riser cam. Do I just replace the whole hinge or can the cam be easily replaced by itself? And, how difficult can it be to remove the hinge/ eplace the cam? Thank you to anyone who can help.

Part 16 on your door parts diagram. Replacement parts for GE TFX22ZJF | AppliancePartsPros.comLeave the door shut and let the magnetic gasket hold the door in place. Put something between the bottom of the door and the floor to hold it in case it slips. Remove the bracket holding the pin and hinge assembly taking note of order of removal of parts. Slide new cams on. You probably need two. Not hard to do.

There should be two parts to this cam one attached to the door by one screw. The other is permanently attached to the hinge so you will have to replace the whole hinge. Just remove the door and remove the upper cam on the door and replace it with new. Then remove the hinge by removing the screws and replacing it with a new one. This is a very simple job. Also if you buy the hinge kit the both cams are included. For more on do-it-yourself appliance repair help visit http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/
