The spring in the door let go and now there is no tension when opening and closing the door. I have opened the plastic plate at the bottom and confirmed that the cord is loose and the spring is no longer engaged. It appears that part of the plastic door pulley has broken off as well.

I understand that it's necessary to pull out the dishwasher about 20" to replace the door link parts. I've found the two screws on the side of the unit that hold it in place. And I know that I need to switch off the power.

My question is:

How do I pull out the dishwasher without destroying the feet? Can a 135# woman do this? Will I need to relevel the dishwasher after the repair is done? Will pulling out the dishwasher about 20 in require disengaging the water hoses?

Many thanks for any and all help

How do I pull out the dishwasher without destroying the feet?
Check to see if the unit is also screwed to the underside of the counter top.
Check that it is not screwed down at the back.
The front feet are adjustable so raise them to free the unit from the cabinet.
I would not be concerned about the feet, you want to make sure that you do not rip or scratch your floor so it is a good idea to raise the feet then put a piece of cardboard under the frame to slide it forward.
It may not slide straight out so you may have to jiggle it out.
Check to make sure your electrical cable, water line and drain line are all coming out easily and not catching on anything same goes when putting it back.

Can a 135# woman do this?
Cannot see why not, just take your time.
Sometimes it is a pain re: move it an inch free up the drain line move it another inch etc.

Will I need to relevel the dishwasher after the repair is done?

Yes but if you measure the distance from the counter top to the dishwasher's frame and the when you reinstall it put it back to that measurement it should be OK.

Will pulling out the dishwasher about 20 in require disengaging the water hoses?

Probably but only you can tell. If it is hooked to the houses copper pipes directly then yes. Mine is hooked to plastic pipe so I do not have to unhook it but it depends how it was installed. It should have a water shut off valve in the line somewhere. It is not a big deal to unhook just have a shallow pan to put under it to catch the water which will drip out. Might also want a couple old towels or paper towels handy.
