i have a combo hood microwave over my stove. there's a 2 way light that shines over the stove top. my wife went to turn it on & she saw a flash. i figured it was just a bulb since the bulb filament was broken & dark inside. i replaced both bulbs & it still doesn't light.......WTF!!! anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

Looks like the control board has gone bad. You have to buy any parts for your microwave only through Sears because it's made God knows where and Sears keeps it as a top secret.

There is only one control board which operates with all functions in the microwave. The part of this board which is responsible for the surface lights has gone bad. You still can use the microwave without the surface lights.

I have the exact same problem. Further, I followed the same steps as you did, replacing trhe bulbs, etc. Everything nelse works but the overhead oven lights. Did Sears have a control board, and was it hard to replace?

Opening a new thread with the complete model number of the microwave might help others to help you.

Where did you find the bulb? Mine is out and Sears does not even have it.
