Hi I read the forum, and noticed many people changed a fuse to fix a similar problem on other dishwashers. Question:

1. Why does this failure (dead dishwasher) occur?
2. How do I diagnose if it's my fuse or something else? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dwout,
There are several reasons for a dishwasher to go dead, loss of power through the breaker, wiring or loose connections. Inside the unit you have the fuse and the door switches, these are more like safety devices and designed to make the unit safe for you to operate. The fuse works just like the fuse or breakers in the house panel, a voltage spike from the power supply or short in the machine will cause the fuse to open, to reduce the possibility of excessive damage and fire.

To diagnose your fuse or door switch circuits you will need to have access to a multimeter

Part number: AP3873826
Part number: AP3873826

With that equipment you can check for closed circuits at the proper time, and you can also check voltages to, through and out of the components, if necessary. You can usually save yourself loads of money, with a small investment in a meter.

And the APP Repair Forum Team are here to help you through the process, and advise you.
