I need to convert a Kitchen Aid Supurba dryer from a 3 prong plug to a 4 prong plug. Matching the wires by color code is resulting in blown fuses.

Anyone know how to wire the 4-prong plug? Thanks.

[FONT='Times New Roman']On your dryer there should be three terminals. On the middle terminal there is a strap or wire that goes to ground, remove it. You cord should have four wires red, black, white and green. Hook the green one to ground where you removed the strap. Hook the white one to the middle and the red and back to the two outside ones. I looked at it again with a flashlight and finally figured out that black isn't ground. Had black and green connected together, which apparently is a very bad thing. Swapped them and now it's working fine.

Thanks.
