Water leaks thur float control valve and runs down inside of stem:( only when in wash cycle. How do we fix the leaking?

Replace the stand pipe with the gasket. Check the water level. Make sure there are no suds.

- The part number for the stand pipe is AP3115179

- The part number for the gasket is AP3181006

gene we replaced the stand pipe and gasket and still have it leaking. Any other suggestions. We are not in a possition to buy a new one at this time.

Kathy,
I found a simple solution to your problem. I worked for me. Remove the float assembly (top Portion). It comes out very easily. Take a short piece of tubing (from any lowes or home depot) that will slip over the plunger of the float after the tubing is split down the middle. This tubing has to be split to fit over the bottom of the plunger and still be small enough to allow the slide to go up and down on the holder that is part of the assembly that is attached to the bottom of the inside of the DW tub. You will need to only use a length of the tubing that is long enough to ride inside of the assembly.

Hope it helps. It stopped my leak.

You may also want to check:
1. That the dishwasher is level or slightly tilted to the back.
2. That the wash arm holes are clear. Sometimes they can get a partial plug and it will spray water out at a weird angle and cause a leak. I find it best to remove junk from the holes when it is wet using a pair of tweezers.

:mad: I replaced the stand pipe and gasket, I have no sudding problem, any other suggestions? How do you know if theres too much water in the machine?
