My Kenmore Fridge/Freezer is a 2006 model. It is suddenly frosting up and the fan seems to be running every time I open the freezer. This morning the light switch was frozen closed and ice had formed on top of the door. What should I do?

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too. check defrost heater, defrost thermostat Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.comIf they are ok the problem will be the adaptive defrost control/motherboard etc. If the coils aren't iced up, your excess frosting may be because of a bad seal on your door gaskets letting in moist air.
